It provides up-to-date information on all programs and activities being held at the Jamboree. Participants are able to view their daily schedule of activities. A detailed map of the Jamboree is also provided that will allow users to find their way around the site. This app is “Powered by AT&Tâ€Â.The app will track each participant’s current location at the Jamboree. This will be used in cases of emergency and to provide the ability to find your friends and troop members. Be aware that continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.Additional Recent Change:On the Activity pages, you can now use the All, Near, Special and Favs sections. Until you are on the Jamboree grounds, the Near section will use the Summit Center as its default location. Once you are on the Jamboree grounds, it will change to use your actual location. Favs are set by going to the Activity detail page and clicking on the “Add to Favorite†button. The Activity detail page now allows you to write reviews and rate activities. Reviews will not be shown on the app but will be used by BSA staff to make improvements for the next Jamboree. It also includes a Locate on map button that will show the location of the activity and your current location to assist in finding the activity from your current location. Again, it will use the Summit Center as your location until you get on to the Jamboree grounds. The People Profile page has been changed to allow you to turn on/off tracking your movements. It also provides a Show breadcrumbs button that will allow you to see all of your movements during the day. Friends and Troops have been changed to allow you to locate your friends and troop members. This functionality will be turned off until the day the Jamboree starts and will only display individuals that are within the Jamboree grounds or within the area for Day of Service. In the More section, a new Geo Messaging button has been provided. This will not be useful to you until the Jamboree starts. It will provide messages from the Jamboree admin staff. Another function of this will be used in emergencies. All individuals within the Jamboree and day of service areas will receive text messages if any emergency arises. For participants with an iPhone, you should set your device phone number on your Profile page so that you will receive these alerts. We have also added a new Feedback section. As with activity reviews, these will not be displayed on the app but will be used by BSA staff to improve future Jamborees. A new link has been added to display the app’s privacy policy and we have provided an Email for Assistance link. All tracking functionality within this app will only apply to Jamboree participants. Visitors can use the location functions but no tracking information will be retained for them. Visitors will also only be able to see map features that are within the Summit Center area.
